This year for Lent we are using "Unbound: Longing for wholeness" from Church Anew. This series follows the Revised Common Lectionary texts for Year A (what's this?), and asks: What if the opposite of being bound is being whole? Our world is filled with things that hold us captive. These things that bind us prevent us from living the whole, abundant life that God has promised us. Through the stories of regular people encountering Jesus, and being drawn to the wholeness that Jesus provides, we can learn about our own longings and be drawn into wholeness.
This worship service will follow a traditional pattern of worship and include the imposition of ashes. Whether you are a regular member, sometimes attendee, or haven't been to church in years, you are welcome in worship. We hope you will join us as we mark the start of the Lenten season.
In a season marked by God's invitation to practice the disciplines of faith — prayer, fasting, worship, and contemplation — we gather each Wednesday in Lent for evening prayer. Evening prayer services often follow a similar format, with an emphasis on contemplative songs and hymns, prayer, scripture readings, and a time for reflection.
Join us on: February 25, March 4, March 11, March 18, and March 25. We start our service at 7pm.
